The Voice in the Walls is Imaginary Theatre’s audio immersive, interactive, site-specific theatre work for children aged 9-12 at Old Government House, a historic
building located within Queensland University of Technology’s Gardens Point campus.
Written by David Burton and directed by Thom Browning, the show will see a group of 30 audience members, each equipped with headphone and a wireless audio device, enter into a historic tour like none other. Guided by two young voices from the past, the audience will split up and traverse the rooms and halls of the house, interacting with characters from another time, then intervene to right the wrongs of history.
Imaginary Theatre are seeking 2-4 individuals to be involved in the remount and presentation of The Voice in the Walls as Project Assistants, who will work to assist the creative and technical teams in the remount and delivery of the work. These roles are integral to the making, testing, and performance of the show and Project Assistants will be responsible for carrying out important tasks across multiple areas.
