Little Artists at Play
Imaginary Theatre is seeking volunteers to help deliver this exciting early-years arts program at Brisbane Powerhouse.
(Minimum 2 x 5.5hr sessions per month)
Little Artists at Play is a creative play workshop series for children aged 0-5 years and their parents and carers. Located at Brisbane Powerhouse, participants are invited to be part of multi-art experiences led by artists from Imaginary Theatre. Each week the host-artist will collaborate with the group on unique and engaging activities. From theatre and visual art to dance, music and digital media, there will be something to inspire everyone.
From 17 July our host artist is Imaginary's Artistic Director Thom Browning who has created Canopy, an immersive sensory experience that brings the outdoors in – a space for playing, adventuring and being together.
Imaginary Theatre are seeking volunteers to be involved in the presentation of Powerkids: Little Artists at Play, as volunteers, who will work to assist the creative team in the rollout of the weekly program. These roles are integral to the success and weekly progression of the project and provide a great opportunity for budding artists and educators and those interested in working with very young children to participate in a creative setting and professional context.
"Engaging children and parents in the arts is something that’s really important to me and it’s been an absolute pleasure being involved in a program that does that really well. I’m really looking forward to incorporating what I’ve learned into my own practice. During the program I’ve seen my own confidence grow along with the children’s and their parent’s."
