Fiona MacDonald - General Manager / Executive Producer
Fiona is a Brisbane based arts worker specializing in the engagement of children and young people in the arts. She is a cofounder and the General Manager/Executive Producer of Imaginary Theatre and has worked as producer, administrator, stage, tour and production manager for Imaginary since 2006. She has also worked as a producer for Brisbane Festival, Brisbane City Council, Contact Inc, The State Library of QLD, QLD Music Festival and as a tutor for QUT Performance Studies. As a freelance event manager she has delivered events and tours with Human Ventures (G20 Cultural Celebrations 2014), MotherBoard Productions (지하 Underground), Bella Shanley, Brisbane City Council, and The Dreaming Festival, and has also worked Internationally with QUT and LATT children’s theatre as a teacher and tour manager. Fiona was recently received a competitive Global Fellowship for mid-career arts leaders, participating in the International Society for the Performing Arts (ISPA) New York conference, 2016.
Thom Browning - Artistic Director
Thom Browning is a Brisbane based multidisciplinary artist & producer. He is a graduate of QUT Creative Industries, Thom is a founding member & Artistic Director of Imaginary Theatre where his work has been seen nationally and internationally. In 2011 Thom took part by invitation in an Artist Residency at Kijimuna Festa in Okinawa, one of Asia’s most highly regarded children’s festivals. In 2012, Thom was awarded a Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Young & Emerging Artists Fellowship to complete three placements with world renowned European companies creating work for young audiences, attend 5 European children’s festivals, & work in an Assistant Director placement with Rosemary Myers & Windmill Theatre. In 2014 Thom was invited as one of 23 international artists the world to participate in the ‘Next Generation’ program at the World Congress & Festival event of ASSITEJ International, the international peak body for performing arts for young people. Also in 2014, Thom worked as Associate Director in residence at Patch Theatre in Adelaide, & in 2015 directed a new work for acclaimed Danish TEY company ‘Theatre Workshop Madam Bach’.
