Imaginary Theatre is a Brisbane based company creating outstanding art and arts experiences for children aged 2-12 and their communities. We engage children and families in contemporary multi-art form experiences that sit on the intersection of childhood, creativity & community. Imaginary’s work aims to excite imaginations, inspire creative responses, & empower children to collaboratively think, make & do as key contributors to their communities. Over 70,000 people have seen or participated in Imaginary projects since 2006 in Queensland, nationally & internationally.
Imaginary Theatre is a not-for-profit arts organisation that operates without ongoing operational funding.
We are currently seeking new Board Directors with skills and expertise in the following areas to join its committed Board of Directors.
Legal knowledge particularly in contract law and intellectual property
Human Resource management
Fundraising and philanthropy
Working closely with the Board Chair, Directors and Imaginary Theatre management, the primary purpose of this role is to provide guidance and leadership to the company as a hands on director.
Imaginary theatre is small and nimble organisation with board members committing not just time at monthly meeting but ongoing assistance to the management team.
An understanding and appreciation and/or experience in the arts and community sectors, with particular knowledge and interest in working with children and families is desirable.
